This is a one-on-one, 3+ hour workshop on a project of your choice that covers introductory skills to TIG welding! You will be using a TIG welder (Tungsten Inert Gas) to melt two pieces of metal together and adding fill rod to create a seam.
Like jewelry that’s a little bit edgy? In this workshop, you’ll learn to take your favorite weapon and make a tiny version of it using silver and copper for a wearable piece of jewelry.
Students will design and create their own unique silver chain using various gauges of sterling silver. You’ll learn how to form, cut, solder, and shape each jumpring and add your own clasp to connect it in a bracelet.
Make yourself a simple everyday set of stone stacking rings that is personalized to your style by using hammers and plates for textures. Whether for one hand or two, students will create 4 rings in total, 2 stone rings, 2 simple bands.

This class is a TWO day session for intermediate and advanced metalsmiths. We require beginner classes as a prerequisite. Having taken any of our Fabrication or Cabochon classes will qualify!
We will use wax and found natural objects to cast in this class as students will be carving and creating their works from wax and natural objects like leaves, small twigs, seed pods, etc.

The techniques learned in this class will be incorporated into your own unique pieces of jewelry. The main goal of the class is to learn all the basics in a technique based approach with a few projects to get started on.
